This magnificent necklace is graceful and feminine, and its antique status, makes it a both unique and rare.  

The special feature, which will pique the interest of collectors, is that with careful use of the original bespoke screwdriver, the chain section can be removed and the brooch fitting attachment added.  The ingenuity and delicacy of the craftmanship is outstanding, and to find such a fully authentic item in such lovely condition, makes this heirloom necklace something to treasure.

The diamonds are antique Old Brilliant Cut Diamonds, which would have been mined and cut in the Late Victorian/Edwardian period.  Old Cuts have slightly different proportions to the modern brilliant cut, with a deeper crown and flat cullet.  It would have been shaped and faceted without the modern technology the diamond industry relies on today, making an old cut diamond something to admire.

The largest diamond has a width of approximately 6mm, and the total diamond weight for the necklace is about 1.30ct.  The diamonds are bezel set with a slight milgrain edge, to add an extra twinkle. 

The necklace is made of predominantly Platinum, with the reverse of the pendant and brooch attachment of yellow gold.  The platinum chain fastens with a box clasp and figure-8 safety catch, and including the pendant, the necklace has a total length of 18".

This is an antique necklace, and is in excellent condition for its age.  Our workshop has lightly cleaned the necklace and we would advise an awareness of its heritage when wearing.  The brooch section screws are very delicate and should only be taken apart with extreme care using the original screwdriver.
